Jonathan is an undergraduate in the Political Science deparment at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. In political science, Jonathan’s primary interests are in machine generated event data and it’s applications in conflict and peace studies. He works as an analyst at the Cline Center for Advanced Social Research, where he assisted with the expansion of the Coup d'État dataset and now works to improve precision and recall of the PETRARCH2 event coder.
Outside of the university, Jonathan is an active cyclist and photographer. He is currently training to bike across America with the Illini4000, which fundraises for cancer treatment research and patient support services while collecting portraits of cancer across America. As a freelance photographer, Jonathan has covered a variety of sports and events for organizations such as The Daily Illini, The Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps, The Marching Illini, and The Naperville Sun.
